MS Global
Tyler & Bill Hamilton

History

MS Global is an annual charitable bicycle tour started by Tyler Hamilton fourteen years ago and produced by Tyler’s father, Bill Hamilton. Its mission is to help fight Multiple Sclerosis by supporting MS research and programs that empower people with MS to take charge of their lives.

The MS Global bicycle tour is a 7-day event that has been staged in Europe, Canada and the United States.  Venues for the past five years have been Moab, UT, Mallorca, Spain, Lake Placid, NY, Jackson Hole, WY and Asheville, NC.

The beneficiary for MS Global is Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, founded by the legendary skier, Jimmie Heuga in 1984 as the Jimmie Heuga Center for MS. Heuga was diagnosed with MS at the age of 26 at the peak of his athletic career. The Olympic skier pioneered the use of physical exercise to combat the symptoms associated with the disease.  Today, Heuga's approach to the disease of well-being and fitness is now a standard in the MS community. Sadly, 46 years to the day after winning his first Olympic medal Heuga passed away. Can Do MS continues to carry on his legacy and fighting spirit.

THT is a proud supporter of Can Do MS. Each year, MS Global participants are required to raise a minimum of $3,700 in addition to their registration costs for the event. Most are inspired to set their goals to go above and beyond to the original fundraising requirements. In 2018 alone, our MS Global tour collected contributions in excess of $215,000 for Can Do MS. Our donations have enabled Can Do MS to help many more MS patients and their families live full lives, refusing to allow the disease to define who they are.
